Kate is an

LA-based writer, director, producer, and mother of four (furry beasts).

Kate writes comedy and has had several digital series produced. Her series MASTERDATE, which she also directed, received a nomination for Best Lead Actor at the Los Angeles Web Series Festival. Her directing and producing are split between narrative and documentary work, with the latter focused on issues ranging from farmer rights to the death care industry. The through line of her work is a focus on amplifying new and underserved voices, creating positive intersectional impact, and finding heart & humor in even the darkest of topics.


Over the last 13 years, her work has included digital series, documentaries (features, shorts, series), short films, branded & corporate content, animation, and campaign spots. Highlights include writing, producing, and directing THE POSSIBILITIES OF REGENERATION with the Oscar and Annie-winning Jason Carpenter Animation team; the branded digital series GROW WHAT YOU KNOW with Kiss the Ground and Elektra Records; the short documentary STORIES OF REGENERATION: YADI WANG about regenerative agriculture in Arizona; and campaign ads for progressive female candidates as part of the Women for the Win team.


She recently finished story producing THE DEATH BOOM, a feature documentary from Appian Way and QC Entertainment, with EPs Leonardo DiCaprio and Eli Roth. She’s currently producing a surrealist short film, ON CHEERS, and a short documentary, DEAR BRANDON, while developing several TV concepts.
